 Psychiatric and Nursing Services

Psychiatric and Nursing Services provides consumers with diagnostic assessments and evaluations, education regarding mental illness and medication issues, medication management, drug and alcohol screenings, prescriptions, medication administration, injections, lab work, consultations with other members of multi-disciplinary team, consultation and referral to outside health care providers and staff and community training. Psychiatric and Nursing Services also provides consultation to District 19 Substance Abuse and Mental Retardation Services. Services are provided by registered nurses and by both child and adult psychiatrists.

Medication management can is an important component of consumer care. Medication management improves the quality of care by:

• Reducing practice variation, errors, and misuse
• Monitoring medication management processes with regard to efficiency, quality, and safety
